I have been told praying Salah with a half sleeve shirt is makruh. Is this correct?
Also how much of your arm must be covered for your prayer to be valid?

Assalaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.
It is permissible -without any form of karaahah (dislike)- to perform salaah in a half sleeve shirt.
For the validity of one’s salaah, it is necessary to cover one’s ‘awrah, i.e. navel to knee. Covering anything besides that is not a requirement for the validity of salaah. However, one should be dressed in a respectable and dignified manner when standing in front of Allaah, i.e. in salaah.
