There are a couple of things to note when leading Taraweeh:
- Tajweed – No compromise
- Clarity – No compromise
- Tune – a mustahab
(to the best of ones ability)
- Additional Features
There are 2 more things which are an improvement feature which, if used effectively, add lustre and attraction to the recitation:
- Volume
At a rate which the listener does not need to strain to listen or not so loud that it hurts the ears - Tempo/Pace
- Reading in an upbeat, smooth, flowing pace.
- A good control of tempo helps the listener follow the reading over 20 rakahs.
- After a long day of work, it also keeps the listener engaged with the recital, especially for the majority who do not understand what is being read.
- The above recording is a good example of Qari Ayyob Ishaq bringing all 5 parts together.
- Take careful note of the tempo of the recital.
- InshaAllah, this is helpful to all readers who should continue developing your style and skills in the service of the Qur’an
Fadalah ibn ‘Ubayd reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah listens more intently to a man reciting the Quran aloud in a beautiful voice than an employer of singers listens to his singers.”
